Happy New Year! I hope you all had an amazing 2015! For me, the year brought many wonderful things and adventures, but ended with some heartache. In March, I finally left the nest and got an apartment with Brian. Over the summer, we went on a great adventure in Europe - visiting the Scottish Highlands, Edinburgh, the Isle of Skye, York, London, Levisham Studios, Windsor, Oxford, Brussels, Bruges, Dublin, and Western Ireland. I continued to work full time teaching, and began my second year of it in August. I also continued to work part time with Lin and Jirsa Photography, for whom I shot 14 weddings this year. Working with their team has been an absolutely incredible experience. I have learned so much more about lighting, composition, and posing from their great team of photographers. I have grown a lot, and was honored when they moved me up to start second shooting in October. The fall also brought some sad news: My very dear friend's mother was diagnosed with cancer and passed away just before Christmas. It was an emotional few weeks filled with an unimaginable tragedy for my friend. I am incredibly proud of her strength though, and look forward to seeing all of the wonderful things that lie ahead for her in the future.
Despite working full time teaching, and part time shooting weddings, I still had some time to expand my own photography portfolio (Here's to having summers off!). Here are some of my favorite images that were created this year, along with some of my favorites from Europe. Enjoy!
I am very much looking forward to all that 2016 brings. As I write this, I am on a weeklong trip with Brian exploring the Central Coast of California, the Napa Valley, and Yosemite. Stay tuned for pictures. Happy New Year!
