Happy 2015 everyone! The past few months have been absolutely insane! So many amazing things have happened, that have kept me extremely busy (hence the lack of posts). Over the summer, I had an incredible opportunity to work as an intern with Lin and Jirsa Photography, and I was offered a position on the team at the end of August. They are the best of the best when it comes to wedding photography, and to have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from such a talented group of people has been a dream come true. Even though I have been doing photography for years, I know that I still have much to learn, and having great mentors is imperative to growing and being successful in the industry. Working with their studio over the past few months has really helped me start taking my photography to the next level, and I am thrilled to keep learning and growing with the company.
In addition to to having this amazing opportunity come along, I also was offered a full-time teaching position in August. At times, it is almost hard to imagine the two years I spent tirelessly working to break into my two career passions. I have a hard time expressing how genuinely excited I am now that I have the chance to pursue both. It truly feels like all of my hard work, perseverance, and countless interviews has paid off. Photography and teaching have come together in some sort of crazy perfect storm. And while it has certainly been a struggle juggling the two, I welcome this new challenge and look forward to tackling the next chapter in my life.
I am really looking forward to all that 2015 holds. Stay tuned for pictures from Monterey and Big Sur, a beautiful wedding in San Clemente, a creative shoot in April, and trip reports from Europe. Until then, here are a few of my favorite images from 2014:
